An amazing sign I seen years ago at an old family friend’s house said,
Jesus first
Others next
Yourself last
Of course the first letter of each line was highlighted in a different font or color to make it obvious it spells out joy and it’s so true when we focus on Jesus first, then others, then ourselves we really do experience the joy of the lord.
I find too when I focus on the blessings God has given me rather than the things I feel I’m lacking in life, my day and attitude is so much better. The joy of the lord really is your strength then, cuz it feels I have more patience and tolerance to deal with the tough parts of the day. When you are thanking God for what you have it’s harder to complain and focus on the negative. Like it says in Philippians 4, think on the good things. (to paraphrase)

This was the theme of my weekend. I went to a marriage event at church and sat in front of everybody and told them that life had stolen my Joy and I knew the only way to get it back was to lay it down for God! Thank you for your post it is exactly how many mom,wife,daughters etc. feel. I don’t know how people get through life without God!!
