What if you are actually a part of the “Body of Christ” and people are counting on you to not just “skip service”? I have 3.5 children and there are a lot of Sunday mornings that I’d rather not go to church. However, when we have made a commitment to serve our brothers and sisters; commitments to serve the lost, then it can no longer be about us. Only by His strength, for His glory!

Thank you for this. It’s so timely. My husband and I just had a similar conversation last night. He mentioned today was Sunday, and we would have a day of rest. I replied that if there is one day I do not associate with rest, it’s Sunday! It’s so exhausting to get everyone going in the morning and then I’m supposed to get something out of the service in an hour and then have food all prepped and fight naps until after lunch. Needless to say, we didn’t make it to church this morning, and I was sitting here feeling guilty only to open up Facebook and read your message. Thanks so much for being real. I’m in the struggle with you. I have a 6 year old, an almost 4 year old, and an almost 2 year old on my hands….I’m praying grace to everyone who reads this!

We made it to church (barely) and I think I heard about 20 words of the sermon because my not quite 2 year old refused to go in nursery and spent the whole service trying to get down and play, asking for juice, saying all done, and more, none of it quietly. We had to leave service multiple times.

Thank you for the reminder that it’s all ok. Another mom told me how much she admired me and that she thought I had so much Grace to handle everything alone, which is my reality as a single parent

Jut as I finished my own post on getting plugged into church and how important it is, my reality is often not being able to make church on Sunday with my husband working 6 days a week and Sunday being our only full day as a family. The balance is so hard, and I am so happy that I read this post. I needed it for my own momma heart that God doesn’t just do work on our hearts on Sundays but throughout the week as well.
