Dear friend,
Your heart is safe here with me.

It is a brave thing to admit that you aren’t as okay as you claim to be most days. It is okay to concede that maybe you need a little help.

I know that most days you can keep your fears under control. Those whispers of fear can be silenced, and you can stand firm in your faith. But I also know about the other days. The days when fear doesn’t just whisper. It taunts. It professes. It shakes even the most settled places in your heart, and it doesn’t relent.

And when that happens, when the fear gets loud, I know it seems impossible to hear anything else.

Suddenly, every small concern is magnified. Suddenly, every small worry is exaggerated. You believe the lies that cause you to say; I am a failure – my husband doesn’t love me – I’m a bad mom – I’m unlovable – this isn’t fixable – I am all alone – I can’t tell anyone how I feel – It will always be this way – God doesn’t hear me.

So, I’m going to speak softly to the part of your heart where fear doesn’t live. I’m going to speak to the place where Truth abides, and the love of the Lord reigns.

Because the one thing I know about fear, is that it is always rooted in a lie. And I have learned that the fastest way to kill a lie is to expose it. To call it out. To declare it as nothing more than dust.

It can be as simple as turning on a light and seeing that the shadows you feared were not what you thought at all, and realizing that the darkness couldn’t stand in the presence of Truth.

So, listen carefully to my words, sweet friend…

You are not a failure. You are not a bad mom. Your husband loves you, because you are a woman worthy of love. You are not alone. You don’t have to hide how you feel. You don’t have to pretend to be okay. In a moment, God can step in and change everything, because He loves you. He hasn’t forgotten about you. He has not abandoned you. He is still good.

So, I pray now that the God of all hope would surround you, and fill your heart with gladness. I ask Him to push back the fears and to shine Light on the lies. I pray that the remnants of those lies would blow away like dust as He breathes new life into your heart. May every fear bow in His presence. May every worry flee at the sound of His name. Jesus, the Son of God is with you and for you and hears every secret cry of your heart. May you let His arms of love surround you today, dear friend. It is in His precious name that I pray.
