This isn’t for one group of moms. This isn’t for moms in one season of life. This isn’t for just a few of us. This is for each of us.

To the momma in waiting who is all together thrilled and terrified… Who has done as much as she can to get ready for her little one’s arrival and yet still feels completely unprepared…

To the mom of the new baby who is figuring it out… Who is realizing that this mom thing is nothing like she imagined and so much more than she ever dreamed…Who tries her hardest daily but often feels overwhelmed…

To the momma of littles who doesn’t stop (ever)… Who answers a million questions a day and prepares a millions snacks and refills a million sippy cups and who cares for little ones around the clock fueled by left over chicken nuggets and coffee…

To the mom with kids in grade school who is realizing that those exhausting early years weren’t anything like the days she faces now… Who is realizing that somehow parenthood gets harder and easier every year… Who has dance or gymnastics  clothes or soccer cleats in her car and more on her schedule than time in her day…

To the mom in the preteen years who is catching glimpses daily of the big person her child will become…who has a daughter or son that is nearly as tall as she is and who prays continually for grace to navigate new emotions and tougher and tougher parenting moments…

To the mom of the high schooler who is about to go off to college…who can see the end of childhood… Who recognizes that she blinked and it is all about to be over… Who finds herself again both thrilled and terrified…

To the mom who is now the mom of the mom… Who is helping to raise grandbabies… Who wants to tell every young mom to just wait… To cherish each second… Because it goes by so fast…

To the single mom and the married mom and the divorced mom and the remarried mom. To the unwed mom and the widowed mom. To the first time mom and the veteran mom. To the working mom and the stay at home mom and the work at home mom.

To the momma who gained a child through her womb or adoption or fostering…

To the mom who carries dreams in her heart but no children in her arms and to the mom with babies who wait in Jesus’s…

To the mom who shepherds the dreams of others and cares for the women around her as if they were her own…

To the hot mess mommas and the got-it-all-together mommas and the mommas who are really good at faking it…

You are doing a great job! You are a good mom. Not because your kids are always good, not because you are perfect or always get it right…

You are a good mom because you try your hardest, you do what is best for your kids, and you love until there isn’t anything left of yourself to give.

Motherhood comes in all shapes and sizes in all seasons and situations with only one thing in common… Each other.

No matter how your story began and no matter what season you find yourself in now, you are a part of one of the greatest communities on earth, that when united, can do more together than we ever could apart.

Because the truth is, we don’t have to mother like each other to believe in one another. We don’t have to use one another as measuring sticks to determine our own success. We don’t have to tear one another down to raise ourselves up.

And the minute we believe that we really are good moms… And the minute we realize the great privilege and responsibility that we have to lift one another up, we will start a movement of women who stop looking for the places we are different and who begin to celebrate all of the things we have in common.

The good mom movement is simply this. It is the desire to build up one another and the refusal to let one more good mom think for one more second that she is not.

And that includes you! So if no one has told you in a while, let me be the first to remind you. You are a good mom! Now, who else should we remind?

I’m a part of the #GoodMomMovement!

Who do you want to invite to join us?
