For the my first Five Minute Friday readers… This is a blog link up hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker where writers from across the globe join together to write for five minutes flat on one specific subject. No extreme editing… Just five minutes from the heart. This week, our prompt is “True.”
Go.
I strive to always be transparent with you all… For you to read and know that what I have shared comes from the realest places of my heart… But behind the encouragement, and clever mommy stories, are mountains of me. Are the gulps of life that the sips of this blog can only strive to convey.
But I feel like this is the perfect time to share with you one of my life’s biggest truths, the foundation upon which I live.
When I was very young, my parents drove us across the country to a place where the presence of God was said to be changing lives. It took two days to get there in our overcrowded over packed minivan. When we arrived, we waited in line in the parking lot with thousands of other people for nearly 12 hours….just hoping to get a seat.
It was my first experience as a God chaser.
It would define the rest of my life.
Because when you have experienced the real, tangible, overwhelming presence of the living God, you will settle for nothing less in your everyday life. When He comes and speaks, and when you have an encounter with His goodness and are consumed by his Love… the passion behind everything else you do flows from it.
You will desire to be His hands after you have seen His face.
You will want others to experience the same thing. You want them to meet Jesus face to face and become so confident of his Love that it transforms their lives too.
Friends, I have seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I have seen miracles. I have witnessed transformations. My own eyes have beheld signs and wonders of the glory of the Most-High God.
Every truth of my life stems from this confidence of who God is… Who I am through Him.
He is real, folks. His pursuit of us is real. His forgiveness is real. His love is real… and once you meet Him, you will never be the same.
In my life… in this world…there is no truer truth.
