“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
You know, when I think about Jesus, I often think about how available He was. The Gospels aren’t full of stories where Jesus was busy in secret exclusive meetings (even though there were a few mentioned.) Rather, they are full of stories where Jesus was relatable, reachable, touchable.
Scripture reminds us that Jesus became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
He came so that we might know Him. So that we could have access to Him and to the Father.
…At any time of day.
Sometimes, we forget that Jesus still desires to be that available to us. It is so easy to feel like Jesus is far off… especially at night when the world seems still and we feel so alone, but, friend, God doesn’t change. He is still a reachable God. He is is an available friend.
He doesn’t sleep. He doesn’t rest. He doesn’t have regular business hours. He is always ready for us to meet with Him.
So, no matter what you are facing, no matter what is on your heart, no matter what burdens you are carrying, or the reason that you might be awake tonight, remember that Jesus is ready to meet you right where you are.
Lord, thank you for coming close. Thank you for being a God we can touch. Send your Holy Spirit to bring peace to our hearts now. Send strength. Send comfort. Bring healing in all areas. Just because You love us… in Jesus’s name.
